  • Is Rent-My-Tote a moving company?
    We don’t technically move anything ourselves, but we work with several partners who would be happy to help you with your move. Give us a call, and we’ll be happy to provide our recommendations.
  • What if I realize I need more totes while I am packing?
    Don’t sweat it! It’s as simple as calling us and letting us know. For any additional order of fewer than 25 totes, there will be a $30 delivery fee in addition to the cost of the extra totes. Any additional totes delivered will be picked up at the same time and location as your original order.
  • How big are the totes?
    Our totes measure 27″ L x 17″ W x 12″ H, with a volume of over 2.5 cu/ft. They’re the perfect size for moving everything from books and dishes to clothes and other household items. Anything smaller would be pointless, and anything larger might require recruiting the local football team to help you lift them. Learn more about the totes here.
  • Is there a delivery or pick-up charge if I rent totes?
    Delivery and pickup are always FREE if you’re located in our service area. If you’re outside the service area or if you order fewer totes than our 25-tote package, there may be a fee of up to $50.00. Additionally, any extra totes added after the initial purchase may incur a fee. Call us if you have any questions.
  • How long to I get to keep the totes?
    However long you need! Seriously. Whether you need them for 5 days or 4 months while your builder finishes your new house, we’ve got you covered. Pricing is based on time, so the longer you keep them, the more you pay. Check out the different rental packages for details.
  • Can I keep them longer if I need more time?
    You bet your booty you can! You can extend your rental term at any time during your rental period, as long as it’s not within 24 hours of your scheduled pickup date. Just call us or send an email to make arrangements.
  • What is the cancellation policy?
    We get it—things happen. You’ve got enough to worry about with your move, and our whole goal is to make it easier. As long as you cancel at least 72 hours before your delivery date, we’ll provide a full refund. We prepare for all our deliveries in advance, and we have to cover the costs of that preparation. If you cancel within 72 hours of your delivery date, there may be a restocking fee of $50. Give us a call if you have any questions, and we’ll work with you.
  • Does someone have to be home when they are dropped-off?
    Yes, we require someone over the age of 18 to accept the totes. Since you are renting our equipment, the order will be confirmed, and a signature will be required.
  • If I hire a moving company can I still rent totes?
    Of course! You have a couple of options: if you want the movers to pack your belongings, let them know you already have totes and ask if they can discount their fee for the boxes you won’t be using, as well as the time they won’t spend assembling and taping up boxes. Alternatively, you can pack the totes yourself and pay the movers only for moving them.
  • Do I need tape for the totes?
    No more tape and its many undesirable tagalongs: the annoying plastic dispenser with the dull serrated edge, trying to rip off a piece with your teeth when you can’t find the scissors, or using your fingernail to peel up the edge—again. We offer label cards for easy identification, and you can use zip ties if you want to lock the totes.
  • Can I order for delivery within 24 hours?
    Great question! As long as we have the inventory and time, yes, you can place a last-minute order. Just a small heads-up: a rush order charge of 20% of the rental price will be added. Also, you’ll need to call us directly, as our online checkout process doesn’t accommodate orders that close to the delivery date.
